Aqua Pennsylvania to Close Susquehanna Road Weekdays in Abington Township for Water Main Installation

Aqua Pennsylvania is scheduled to close Susquehanna Road between Valley Road and Washington Lane in Abington Township, Montgomery County, starting Tuesday, May 26 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for water main replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced. The weekday closure will be in effect through the end of August. During construction, Susquehanna Road through traffic will be detoured over Mill Road and Valley Road. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. The construction schedule is contingent on the weather. Aqua Pennsylvania will complete the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 700 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
